You'd think they'd at least offer some solid incentive, right? Sounds like a whole lotta risk for a questionable reward.

If they're trying to make us go along with any of this they're doing a shit job of it.

We could try and run recon. Have somebody with more subtle powers test them out in buildings, see what ones do or don't have dampeners. It might help us get an idea of things.

I don't know whether we can trust them, either. Some of them have been more helpful than others, but overall - at the least, I don't trust them to keep us safe. That's up to us.

But whether or not I do, they have information we don't have. We might have to sift through it and take some of it with a grain of salt, but we can't ignore it, either.

Well - the public won't find out what they're offering us, will they? It just shows that everyone knows the distinction is a sham.

I kind of buy the idea of a distraction. When I talked to Gold Mouse, it sounded a bit like there was a pretty sudden change in attitude. I almost wonder if the government has been infiltrated by someone with their own agenda.

Beats me. I'd like to know what they're after, but for the time being, I'm happy to have an idea of what they want.

The newspaper mentioned what Hanako did at the party - probably had to, since that was on television. But no mention of the jail break and bombs going off around the city?

They want people to think some of us are villains, acting secretly. They don't want people to find out we're organizing and have our own agenda, because it undermines the idea that there's control over the situation. People would start to worry this competition will put them in danger, not just the heroes, and they wouldn't be so happy about it anymore.

We don't know their motives, but I would bet they have one. And it's nothing to do with giving us a chance to win.

...I'm pretty positive they have means of messing with us they haven't brought out into the open yet.

They might try to bribe us or something, too, but failing that...

Yeah, wouldn't be too surprised if they tried to manipulate things to force us into those roles whether we want it or not. Get us involved in more "accidents" that they can twist around.

Definitely a cruelty because then all we're going to think about for those few days is what's going to happen starting Thursdays. If people choose to act, that is. And we won't even know until the following day.
