Sounds like a bargain to me. Kill somebody, maybe save my world, if that's even real, and definitely get caught and killed.

I think they have ways of forcing us to go along with what they want us to do. Might try a carrot, might try a stick.

I mean, the thing is... even with the competition thing... why would that even be applicable to villains? Wouldn't that be the kind of offer you give to heroes to save their world?

We don't know their motives, but I would bet they have one. And it's nothing to do with giving us a chance to win.

Yeah, wouldn't be too surprised if they tried to manipulate things to force us into those roles whether we want it or not. Get us involved in more "accidents" that they can twist around.
