[ oh. well. he's obviously on the beach, normal again and looking out at the ocean with vague feelings of longing and anxious nerves, but he does absolutely feel nimona before he sees her, which means he kind of goes surprise and happy and nervous and then at the joy it's a lot of affection mixed with that surprise. like. so much affection.

but he catches her even if it means he kind of has to twirl them to keep his balance, because he expected that!!! he expected it. ]

[ the emotional vibe is like, that thing where a pet sees you and it's been a while and theyre like happy happy nervous do you still love me like it's even in question. its fine being locked up was just bad for his mental health he'll get over it ]

she's wearing his hat still, and she'll give it back to him in a second but she absolutely cannot bring herself to let go of him, she missed him so bad. the returned affection makes something bright and hot behind her eyes very, very present, and she's not going to cry because she's not a baby but it's just. very good to be here.

[ HELP it's so much and there's a kind of overwhelmed feeling from ace that doesn't show on his face as he holds her back, and the mild blip of worry panic concern when she cries but also just. like. a lot of love. just a lot of it sorry. he squeezes her a little ]

Missed you too. [ there's something apologetic in the emotions and the tone both there, since, y'know, he fuckin left in the first place. but also he's never over jokes so: ] C'mon, don't cry at the sight of me, I was way worse looking as a penguin.

[she makes a huffy, annoyed sound at herself because she doesn't want to cry. she brings a hand up to rub at her face stubbornly, laughing a little when he jokes.]

[ there's not real annoyance in the emotions despite the gripe just kind of. exhaustion. it's fine. he's dropping back so he's sitting down in the sand still holding her. this is a sitting moment now ]

[that's fine with her, she flops down with her arms still around him. the sand is nice and familiar - she's spent more time out here than she's spent anywhere else, honestly, so the beach is kind of a second home at this point.

... Yeah, I am now. [it got real dire there for a bit, but the dead are back - reigen and ace are back - and she feels a little invincible.] It got easier after you guys texted. Kind of.

[ since ace pretty much let her hang all the time. but the jokes is over when she mentions after the texts, because his emotions just turn into something dark as he frowns ]

[her emotions here are - squirmy. there's a lot of guilt, weirdly enough, but there's anger, too. anger in the betrayed sort of way. she got her trust broken so badly.]

You were as clear as you could've been. I wasn't lying when I said it was less of a surprise in my one letter. [sigh.] ... He thought I was gonna kill him. He told me in his room at Tiger and there was a bunch of knives on the ground and he thought I was gonna pick one up and stab him right there.

I never thought you'd kill him. [ he's sincere and his emotions are also sincere because he thinks nimona isn't fucking stupid so he was never worried about that, but; ] Hanako's done every single kill that wasn't solved, so we kind of all guessed even before he showed up that he was responsible.

[ there's something a little tired at that, and also a little wary because he never got the conclusion of why hanako voted SEVEN TIMES for WILL which is the one he ACTUALLY IS MAD ABOUT "he killed four people" eh ]

Oh. He told me about Janeway and Danny. [but she guesses she never really asked about satan so that's unfortunate. she also does not know why hanako voted SEVEN TIMES FOR WILL but she is having such a hard time with that in particular for... reasons.

she's quiet for a second, and then:]

He said he was trying to make sure the quota got done. With Danny and Vane. And he did it because he knew that if Danny was gone, nobody would vote for me because they wouldn't want to wipe out a team. [there's another burst of guilt and a lot of sad, twisty feelings.] ... He didn't hide it from me.

Yeah, that's what we figured too. [ not the part about her, but the part about why he'd kill danny and vane like that. the emotions feel... pretty indifferent about it if a little tired. it's not like he actively wanted danny dead, he wasn't even remotely pleased it happened, but like, if hanako had to pick a victim, etc? could've been worse. haha. ] But I'm glad he told you.

[ said with the kind of vibes that are like. glad HE was honest from the get go!! even though hanako is like, such a fucking liar and has been this whole time. he is that mad at danny. anyway speaking of honesty; ]

You should know Tiger's the one who told Danny to kill Reigen. Didn't give him a reason and apparently said he didn't like him anyway. [ there's. that flare of something dark again. ]

Anyway, I don't know where his orders came from, but now Reigen's convinced he's the moon's number one enemy.

the last bit makes her laugh a little at least. it's not super joyful or anything, but it's something.]

[ there's just such confusion and a little bit of indignance on nimona's behalf, but also after a beat the emotion is. judgmental ]

Well, of course he'd think it was fine, none of those guys ever had to do anything. [ he's like That's What I Thought You'd Say etc ] I don't really want one of us to eat the rock either, but I don't know if I trust what happens if we don't.

[but whatever, she doesn't really care about that as much as everybody being back. a pause, and she reaches up to carefully take his hat off her head. it feels weird to not have it on - the only time she takes it off is to shower or sleep and even then it's right next to her - but.

she leans up to put it back on his head.]

[ there's a flash of hesitance and then he's grabbing her hand while she's leaning and putting it back on her head ]

Keep it. At least until after everything. [ the emotions are pretty calm there, though, so whatever the hesitance was was maybe not about the hat? or he got over it quick ]

[she glances up at him with the hat on her head like a stupid, blinking a few times, and then:]

anyway, she puts the hat back on securely and i will say it absolutely gives her a sense of comfort she can't hide. she plays a bit with the cord after he tugs it with a huff.]

I didn't let anything happen to it. Yeah. [that's the least she could've done! there's a little twisty bit of guilt here again, too, and the sense that maybe she is not quite all the way talking about the hat in this instance.]
