[ It is a running gag in this series that the male protagonists can potentially just straight up abandon their extremely important investigation just to go to Atami with a girl on the fly. You can be that girl. ]

Like camping? I'm no good with camping actually, it's hard if I don't have the right tools for it. I grew up cooking for myself and my brother a lot so I know how to, I just haven't been doing it consistently lately. Busy and all, but I'm pretty sure I haven't forgotten how?

Nah. We're not related by blood. Luffy's grandpa took me in, and we brought in Sabo without asking for his opinion.

Nope! I set sail at seventeen myself, too. Luffy needs to be captain of his own crew, and I'd never be able to let him boss me around.

Well ... it always kind of is, but these days everyone's been in a race to be the next Pirate King. [ he shrugs ] It's a long story.

[ Pirate King sounds goofy and incredibly RPG-y but in his puppy crush-addled mind the idea of Ace being the Pirate King is like. Unfathomably cool. Oh my God. ]

No way. To get it, you need to find the treasure the first one left behind. Getting the title and treasure leftovers of some dead guy? Never been interested.
